Drug Addiction
Drug addiction is a dangerous social curse. It destroys the health, wealth and peace of a person and his family. At first, a person may take drugs out of curiosity, bad company or frustration. Later, he becomes dependent on them and cannot live without drugs. Then he loses self-control and dignity.
Drug addiction brings many harmful effects. It damages the brain, body and nervous system. An addicted person becomes weak, lazy and mentally unstable. He may spend all his money on drugs and even commit crimes to get them. As a result, his family suffers and society also faces insecurity.
To prevent drug addiction, we must create awareness among students and young people. Parents should guide their children carefully. Teachers, social workers and the government should work together to stop drug trafficking and illegal sales. Proper education, healthy recreation and moral values can protect the young generation from this evil.
In short, drug addiction is a great threat to our society. We must fight against it and save our youth from this deadly habit.

Subject: Prayer for setting up a debating club
Sir,
We beg most respectfully to state that our school has no debating club. As a result, the students do not get enough opportunity to improve their speaking ability, confidence and critical thinking. A debating club can help us develop leadership, public speaking and general knowledge.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would kindly take necessary steps to set up a debating club in the school compound and oblige thereby.
Yours obediently,
Sristy/Srasto

Wonders of Modern Science
Modern science has changed our life and made it easier, faster and more comfortable. It has given us many wonderful inventions such as the computer, television, mobile phone, internet, aircraft and medical machines. These inventions have reduced distance and saved time. Science has made the world seem smaller and connected people across the globe.
Science has brought great progress in communication. We can now send messages, talk to people and share information within a few seconds. In education, students can learn from online classes, digital books and educational websites. In medicine, science has given us X-ray machines, ultrasounds, scanning devices and life-saving treatments.
Science has also improved transportation and industry. Trains, buses, ships and airplanes help us travel quickly from one place to another. Machines in factories increase production and save labour. In agriculture, science helps farmers grow more food by using modern tools and better seeds.
However, science should be used wisely. If it is misused, it can cause harm through pollution, war and destruction. So, we must use science for the welfare of mankind.
In conclusion, modern science is a blessing for humanity. It has given us comfort, knowledge and progress. We should be grateful to science and use it properly for the betterment of our lives.
