Your Visit to a Book Fair

A book fair is a great source of joy and knowledge for book lovers. Last February, I visited the Ekushey Book Fair held at Bangla Academy premises with my family. The fair looked vibrant and lively with many colorful stalls selling books of various subjects such as science, history, fiction, children's stories, poetry and biographies.

It was exciting to see thousands of people of all ages enjoying the fair, especially students choosing educational books. Many well-known writers attended the fair, signing books and interacting with their readers, which increased my desire to read more. I bought a few storybooks, a science book and a Bengali grammar book.

There were also stalls displaying traditional crafts and artworks. The fair promotes our culture, language and the habit of reading. Such fairs make books affordable and easily available, which encourages students to read more instead of spending time on mobile phones or TV.

I enjoyed the fair a lot. It refreshed my mind and inspired me to read more regularly. Visiting a book fair is a valuable experience as it widens knowledge, nurtures curiosity and strengthens the bond with our language and culture.

Subject: Prayer for increasing library facilities

Sir,

I beg most respectfully to state that our school library facilities are not sufficient for the students. The collection of books is limited, and the reading room is not spacious enough. We are particularly in need of more reference books, grammar books and dictionaries.

A well-equipped library is essential for our study and intellectual growth. We, therefore, pray and hope that you would kindly take necessary steps to increase the number of books and improve the reading facilities in our school library.

Yours obediently,

Ahid/Ahida

The Season I Like Most

There are six seasons in Bangladesh. They are summer, rainy season, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring. Among them, the spring season is the one I like most. It is called the king of seasons. It comes after winter and brings new life to nature. The Bangla months of Falgun and Chaitra make up this lovely season.

I like spring because it removes the cold and gloom of winter and gives a fresh, pleasant feeling. The trees put forth new leaves, flowers bloom in abundance and the sky looks clear and blue. Gentle breezes blow all around. Birds sing sweetly, and bees and butterflies move from flower to flower. Everywhere there is beauty, joy and freshness.

Spring also has a positive effect on our minds. It makes people cheerful and hopeful. Nature appears colourful and alive. Gardens, fields and roadsides look beautiful during this season. The weather is neither too hot nor too cold, so people feel comfortable.

Though spring is the most charming season, it has a few disadvantages too. Sometimes people suffer from small diseases like cold and fever. But these small problems cannot reduce its beauty and charm.

In short, spring is the most beautiful, pleasant and refreshing season. Its flowers, fragrance, softness and freshness attract me greatly. That is why I like spring most.
